Thank you for choosing our product!
Techni ice is a reusable, highly durable, ice replacement product that lasts longer than ice. Unlike ice cubes, it does not melt down into the water, so no more soggy foods. Techni ice is lighter than regular ice, which keeps the weight of the ice chest down, and it takes up less room, allowing you to bring more drinks and food.
How to Activate and Use Techni ice!
Hydration Instructions:
1. Immerse the Techni ice sheet in warm water ( can take up to 3 to 6 minutes). Scrunch the sheet in your hands while it is submerged (this will force out any air bubbles and allows for a more efficient reaction with the water). The 24 cells will begin to expand after about 1 minute ( some cells expand more quickly than others; this is normal).
Note: The sheet of Techni ice should be completely submersed during this process.
2.Techni ice will expand to a fully hydrated pack with each cell about 1⁄2 inches thick. Massage any Lazy cells, which have not expanded until they have started to expand (allow some room for expansion during freezing).
3. Remove them from the water after all the cells are completely hydrated and pat dry them with a towel.. This ensures that any excess water does not form ice on the outside of the sheet during the freezing process.
4. Your Techni ice is ready to Freeze or Heat.
Note: Commercial 2ply Techni ice should be placed stacked in the freezer cloth to plastic not plastic to plastic!
Freezing Instructions:
1. Place or stack the hydrated sheet(s) into the freezer. Initially, you should leave the sheets in your freezer overnight or for 24 hours (the sheets may be warm due to the warm water causing the temperature of your freezer to rise). Your First Freeze may not be as cold as the 2nd and future freezes due to the temperature of the freezer rising.
2. For best results, Your freezer should be set to its maximum setting at least 24 hours before you use the sheet(s); the colder you freeze the Techni ice and the longer you freeze them the longer Techni ice will last! Unlike ice cubes, Techni ice continues to absorb the cold at lower temperatures use them.
Heating Instructions:
1. Place the hydrated, non-frozen, sheet in your microwave (only heat one sheet at a time).
2. Set your microwave on the highest setting and heat the sheet for 1 minute. Check the temperature of the sheet and repeat the 1-minute heating cycle until the desired temperature is reached. Once the heating time is known for your specific microwave, subsequent heating cycles can be done “in one shot”.
Can be used on the body or to keep food warm.
3. Can be used on the body or keep food warm.
Caution:
Check to make sure the sheet is not too hot before placing it on the body. Remove from your body if it feels too hot. Use a towel between your body and Techni ice for soothing relief.
Commercial Hydration:
Techni ice can be placed in an agitator washing machine with some clean towels on a regular wash cycle without the spin cycle. Please ensure the washing machine is clean and free from soap residue.
Maintenance and Maximum Performance Tips:
1. Position the sheet along the sides and bottom. For optimum performance, layer the sheets (sheets then food then sheets). Cold air falls. Different ice chests will cause the Techni ice to act differently depending on its insulation properties. Actual cooling duration will also depend on the freezing temperature of the Techni ice and the number of times the chest is opened.
2. Through repeated heating/freezing cycles. Techni ice sheets may lose some of their moisture content: rehydrate as needed to maximize performance and product life.
3. Sheets can be cut between the cells to a different sizes to fit specific applications.
4. Techni ice has a lower melt point than ice so they are still working when soft do not remove them until they reach room temperature.

Mixing crushed ice with techni ice:
A very successful way to mix both bagged ice and Techni ice is to put the crushed ice (leave the ice in the bag due that ice is warmer than Techni ice) in the bottom of your ice box, then all the chilled food and drinks on top, then stack Techni ice sheets on top of everything directly. Techni ice will keep your ice longer.
Alternatively, Techni ice is very effective without ice and will keep a chest much drier, the ice packs will start off frozen and go soft as they transfer their energy into the food and drinks, etc.
